Dr Vincent Pam Gyang studied Zoology at the University of Jos, Plateau State and graduated in 1997. He did his national assignment, tagged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Oyo State between 1998 and 1999. Thereafter, he went back to the University of Jos for a Masters programme in Parasitology and Entomology, and graduated in 2006. Dr Gyang started his research career in 2008 as a Research Fellow in the Molecular Parasitology Research Laboratory, Department of Public Health and Epidemiology, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Lagos. He was awarded a four-year scholarship in 2011 for a PhD program in Parasitology at the Taipei Medical University, Taiwan, where he graduated in 2015. Over the years, Dr Gyang has been involved in many studies on schistosomiasis, toxoplasmosis, giardiasis and more recently, Buruli ulcer and has published several papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals
